Accelerated Resolution Therapy 

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a form of psychotherapy that uses memory reconsolidation to help individuals process and resolve traumatic memories and distressing emotions. It is a highly structured and evidence-based approach that combines elements of other therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), with a unique focus on guided visualization and eye movements. ART is designed to achieve rapid results, often within 1-5 sessions

ART involves the therapist guiding the client through a series of eye movements while they recall troubling memories or situations. The therapist guides the client through a structured protocol to ensure the client does not become overwhelmed or flooded by emotions. This process helps rewire the way the brain stores the memory, reducing the associated emotional or physical distress. Through techniques like "voluntary image replacement," clients can replace negative images or emotions with more positive or neutral ones, effectively altering the impact of the memory without erasing it.

ART has been shown to be effective for a wide range of issues, including:

• Trauma and PTSD: Resolving distressing memories and reducing symptoms of post-traumatic stress.

• Anxiety and Panic Disorders: Managing overwhelming feelings and reducing physical symptoms of anxiety.

• Depression: Addressing underlying emotional pain and shifting negative thought patterns.
